Lura Redd, of Salt Lake City, Utah, was born in Harmony, Utah. Redd studied at the University of Utah, and enjoyed a twenty-year career as head of the art department at Box Elder High School in Brigham City. She worked on Salt Lake Temple mural restorations with J. Leo and J.B. Fairbanks and Mabel Frazer, and exhibited her watercolors at group shows through the 1950s as a member of the Associated Utah Artists.
