Konstantin Aleksandrovich Prokhorov is a Soviet Ukrainian and Russian Painter. He was honored with the title of People’s Artist of Russia, as well as an Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR. He was born in 1924 in the Vladimir region. His education began in the Palekh Art School, and then transferred to Ivanovo. He fought in WWII, shortly thereafter moving to Crimea where he graduated from the Simferopol Art College. He became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1948. Prokhorov taught for several years at Simferopol College. He shows his works primarily in regional and all-union exhibits, yet prints of his paintings are published often in postcards. He was particularly fond of Russian rivers which made an appearance in many of his works.
