Jim Clyde Norton
Oil
(Price, UT, 1953 - )

A Utah native, Jim Norton has roots throughout the western United States which enables him to capture the culture, environment and spirit of the west in his art. This small oil of a cowboy affiliated with the renowned Diamond Tail Ranch evidences Norton’s virtuosity in rendering human and animal forms and the surrounding landscape. Norton’s experience with art began at an early age, as he observed his grandfather, Earl Faucett, paint in his basement studio. He later studied at Western Wyoming College, Brigham Young University, and has developed his skill through workshops and travels to Russia and the magnificent museums there, Canada, Australia, and throughout the United States—wherever there are opportunities for furthering his learning experience. Jim was invited to become a member of the Cowboy Artists of America in 1989, where he has garnered numerous awards.
