Cody Swanson is a freelance sculptor currently residing in Florence, Italy and has completed over 16 works for the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Sioux Falls, SD. The Archbishop of Florence honored Swanson with the commission of a 4 meter sculpture depicting St Emygdius for the Duomo of Foligno, which was unveiled in the fall of 2011. Swanson studied at the European University in Rome where he received his Master of Arts in Liturgy, Sacred Art and Architecture and then spent 5 consecutive years teaching sculpture at the Florence Academy of Art. He has received various awards throughout his career and has work in the permanent collections of the Palazzo Arcivescovile of Florence Italy, the Opus Dei oratories of Ljubljana Slovenia and Florence Italy as well as the Springville Museum of Art in Utah. His drive for the art though, is not the awards but instead to glory God and to reflect His truth into the hearts of many.
