Solon Hannibal Borglum
(1868 - 1922)
Borisenkov studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts from 1949-1954. He loved to paint landscapes and industrial scenes. He believed that nature was Russia's greatest treasure. He appreciated his hometown because the place greatly inspired him. He often traveled to Siverskaya, a forested-area community where artists gathered. There he painted beautifully nature scenes. He also painted the Black Sea the Baltic republics and the Caucasus Mountains.
