Andrew Peterson Smith

(1978 - )

When he was a boy, Smith spent his time playing with Legos, exploring piles of junk, and watching his father sculpt assemblages. His inner child never grew out of him as he progressed through high school and college, studying physics, film, and art. Then, in 2000, Smith realized that he truly loved assembling pieces using tools and scrap metal. He submitted his first work to the Springville Museum of Art’s Spring Salon, and won the museum director's award. Combining self-taught technical skills with child-like imagination, Smith aims to create playful and energetic works of art that will turn the heads of even the most disinclined museum-goer. He currently lives in Lehi with his wife Brittney.
