Gregory Sievers received his Associate of Fine Arts Degree in 1976 from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. In 1982 he received a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Utah State University in Logan, Utah. His graduate thesis was a compilation of still lifes depicting aspects of the early west. In 1996, Greg was appointed by the Governor of Idaho to serve as a Commissioner on the Idaho Commission on the Arts. In 1996 and 1997, Greg served the commission on the Policy and Planning Board and as Chair of the Individual Artists Committee.
