(Mauritius, Indian Ocean, 1886 - 1973, Pinesville, PA)

Harry Leith-Ross was one of Pennsylvania's most prolific and decorated Impressionist painters. Leith-Ross' background was diverse, he was born in the British colony of Mauritius, then moved to Scotland and later to the United States. He studied painting in Paris in 1909. He settled in Pennsylvania in 1935 where he met John Folinsbee, a noted painter of the Pennsylvania Impressionist school. Leith-Ross is renowned for his vibrant and carefully created oil paintings.
