An English artist active in Colorado in the 1870s, Paris is reported to have done transparent-watercolor sketches of Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Mountains around 1873, prior to visiting Monterey, California, for painting purposes and subsequent service in India as an architect. Yet no extant examples of this painter's Utah work are known.
