Yuri Ivanovich Semenyuk was born March 24, 1922 in the Vladimir region. He absorbed the beauty and power of nature from a young age. He studied at the Yaroslavl Art College until 1941 and was in the midst of writing his thesis when the war began. After training and years of combat he was demobilized in 1946. He started work at a mechanical plant as an artist-designer, later invited to the Yaroslavl Association of Arts. He was admitted to the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1854. His works include still lives, genre sketches and landscapes many of which have settled in private collections as well as collections worldwide.
