Jason A. Wheatley, of Salt Lake City and Bountiful, received a Bachelors of Fine Arts. in painting and drawing from the University of Utah (1998). His works are in acrylic and mixed media in a fantasy style reminiscent of the work of Tony Smith and Sam Wilson. He says a major influence in his work is French realist Gustave Courbet. He teaches at the Petersen Art Center. (b. February 4) He primarily paints animals and uses them as spirit guides to venture into the aetherial realms. His art has been a part of many exhibitions and galleries, even from before he had even graduated.
