(Allen) Joseph Germaine of Tucson, Arizona, Hawaii, and Provo, is a ceramic sculptor and printmaker who studied art history and studio art at Brigham Young University (B.A., M.F.A.). Within the context of ceramic sculpture, Germaine's work can be abstract expressionist, nonobjective formalist, or more conceptual in nature. As a printmaker he often works in terms of modified traditional Polynesian style and motifs. He is one of the leading art educators in Utah.
