Jon D. Rappleye of Salt Lake City, Utah, is an abstract expressionist, mixed-media artist, and painter of spiritualist figure themes and hauntingly pessimistic self-portraits. He is also known for his paintings of hybrid animals set in fantastic landscapes. He received his Bachelor Degree in 1992 from Utah State University, and then in 1998 acquired a Master's from the University of Wisconsin-Madison as well as an Associate of Fine Arts from Snow College.
