David W. Pursley, of Salt Lake City, Utah, is a photographer, mixed-media artist, arts administrator, and gallery preparatory, in addition to being a student of art history currently researching and writing a University of Utah master's thesis regarding the work of photographer Hal Rumel. For quite a number of years, he was a valued member of the Salt Lake Art Center staff. Later he was involved as a staff specialist with the "Percent for Art" program of the Utah Arts Council. He is now the director of the St. George Art Museum.
