Jay Fisher Hennefer of Logan and Salt Lake City, is a dedicated art educator and painter (oil and transparent-watercolor mediums). He taught in the Granite School District for many years before his retirement in 1976. A longtime member of the Associated Utah Artists, Hennefer pursued visual artistic training at Weber State and under B.F. Larsen and Edgar Jensen at Brigham Young University. Graduating in 1938 as a music and art major, he found a job at Olympus Junior High School the following year. He worked there for the next thirty-six years, and numbers among his students such excellent artists as Charles Stubbs and Denis Phillips.
