G. Vaughn Forsyth

(Gordon) Vaughn Forsyth studied at Brigham Young University and is a University of Utah graduate who now lives in Denver, Colorado. He has also lived and worked in Provo, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Bellingham, Washington. As a Salt Lake City resident, this talented draftsman, watercolorist, and painter-sculptor in other media was represented in the Springville Museum of Art National April Salons—Korea #3 and Korea #4, watercolors, 1982; Yucca No.2, drawing/watercolor, 1983. Forsyth's Korea #9 (watercolor, 1982) was one of the Purchase Prize winners at the state's annual exhibition. In 1985, another watercolor by this successful artist was purchased by the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. His plant life and landscape studies have been described as both "photo-realist" and "surrealistic."
