This sensitive painter of powerful flower, landscape, and portrait depictions was born in Saint Anthony, Idaho. Mary Lou Romney was one of Salt Lake City's most effective and active arts community organizers and participants. A University of Utah graduate (B.F.A., 1979), she later completed the M.F.A. program at Utah State University (1986). Also a fine teacher (U of U and elsewhere), Romney used her knowledge of both the Western and Eastern traditions to further her work in the classroom and studio.
