Frank Ward Kent
(Salt Lake City, UT, 1912 - 1979, Sacramento, CA)
Born in Salt Lake City, this skilled artist studied under James T. Harwood at the University of Utah (1921-31) and then went on for further training at the Art Institute of Chicago (1931), at the Art Students League (1932-34) under Jean Charlot, in Europe (1934), and at Syracuse University (M.F.A., 1936; Ph.D., 1939). Teaching at Bradley University and the University of Illinois (1938-44) and at Syracuse (1944-58), Kent became director of the Crocker Art Gallery in Sacramento, California (1958).
