(Dearborn, Michigan, 1948 - )

Allan Banks, born in Dearborn, Michigan, is an artist in the Classical Realism style. He paints all genres including portraits, landscapes and still lifes. A plein-air artist, he has traveled in Europe as well as the United States for inspiration. In 1996, Banks was one of six American artists to be invited to exhibit with the Union of Russian Artists in Moscow. Published in Who's Who in American Art, Banks is well known as one the America's leading classical realist and the naturalist movement's chief proponent and greatest practitioner. He has numerous works in private and public collections including the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, CT, the Newark Museum of Art, and the Springville Museum.
