Florence Bohn Drake
(1885 - 1958)
Florence Bohn Drake, who came from Winona, Minnesota, became a fine Ogden artist and teacher. Her expertise was in the use of transparent watercolor and oils, and many Utah painters studied with her. Drake was a member of the Associated Utah Artists, essentially a traditionalist group of artists, but she was actually quite an interesting semi-abstractionist in the presentation of not only landscape and still-life subjects but figurative work as well. Numerous local exhibitions included her work during a vital career dedicated to the advancement of the arts in Utah.
