McRay Magleby is a graphic designer and printmaker best known for iconic logos for the 2002 Olympics and Young Women's torch. He graduated from the University of Utah’s graphic design program in 1965, and decided to stay in Utah instead of pursuing a career in New York. Eventually, McRay Magleby started working at Brigham Young University. Over the course of his time at BYU, McRay and Norm Darais worked on hundreds of posters for concerts, plays, sports, special events recruitment, and to inform students of class registration deadlines. Their creations proved so popular that students began stealing them from walls across campus to decorate their dorms and apartments.
