Bertran Youth Andelin, of Richfield and Ogden, was a painter, educator, and scenery painter-designer who attended the University of Utah (1912-16), Utah State University, the University of Southern California, Chouinard Art School, and the Otis Art School. His teaching posts included Richfield Public Schools (1916-18), Juab County Junior High School (1924-26), Washington Junior High School in Ogden (1926-29), art instructor at Ogden High School (1929-60), and part-time faculty member at Weber State College (WSU).
He was a skilled depicter of traditional landscape scenes via easel works in oil and watercolor as well as the painter and designer of countless sets and other forms for virtually all of his city's dramatic productions and civic celebrations. Andelin was also an important Ogden arts activist. He passed away in 1985.
