Eugenia Everett Smith Newton, of Loveland, Colorado; Hawthorne and Ojai, California; and Salt Lake City, was a printmaker and sculptor of marble heads in a stylized art deco manner who was active in local exhibitions of the 1930s and '40s. In 1932, she studied with Roger N. Burnham and Merrel Gage and at Chouinard and Otis Institutes, and then had a solo show at the Art Barn in 1934. She taught at Ventura College and was active in California until 1971. (b. November 27)
