From SMA Website: Aleksandr Ivanovich Laktionov was an acclaimed socialist realism painter in the post-war Soviet Union period. Many describe his works also as early photo-realism due to the detail and life-like qualities of many of his paintings. He studied at the Institute for Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the Academy of Art under famous artist Isaak Brodski between 1932-1938.
