Marat Semenovich Shanin was a member of the Union Artists of USSR as well as an honored art worker of Mordovia ASSR. Shanin graduated with honors from the Kharkov State Art Institute. He was awarded the title of People’s artist of the Public of Mordovia. His works are included in the collection of the Mordovian Republic Museum of Fine Arts and other institutions in Russia and abroad.
