Lane Jay Twitchell of Murray and Salt Lake City, Utah, draws, paints, and mixes his media in order to create visionary images. He received his B.F.A from the University of Utah in 1993 and his M.F.A from the School of the Visual Arts, in New York CIty, in 1995. Following his education he worked as a gallery manager at the School of the Visual Arts until 1999 before becoming an instructor there. His work is centered around paper cuttings that produce elaborate patterns that call reference to religious, American, and even region-specific icons. He currently resides and works in Brooklyn, New York.
