Russell Ricks
(Rexburg, Idaho, 1958 - )
Russell Ricks was born in 1958 in Rexburg Idaho, a town founded by his great-grandfather. He moved to Utah in 1997, and currently lives there. Most of his training came through a national outdoor art school, founded by his father. He also studied at the art program at Ricks College (Now BYU Idaho). He retired in 1984 from the art business for a period to focus on raising a family. He entered the commercial art field once again a number of years later as a sign painter. He continued fine arts in his spare time. He returned to the business of fine arts full time in 2001. He created a 50 minute each instructional art video program for his local community TV station. He is currently working with an independent filmmaker to produce a new series called “Creative Journey.”
